Aaron is from Manchester, NH and is a classically trained pianist. Aaron started playing jazz in high school and continued through college. He began learning music at the age of five under a Russian instructor and has continued learning on his own. Aaron’s favorite pianists are Bill Evans, Lambert, Phillip Glass, and Jean-Michel Blais. He is dedicated to improving his musical skills in soloing, sight-reading, and theory/composition.

Ben Cuba is a multi-instrumentalist, accompanist, and composer based in the Boston area. In addition to his work with Midnight Motion, he performs as a dance-class accompanist for Boston Conservatory, Emerson College, Jose Mateo Ballet Theatre, Great Boston School of Dance, and The Dance Complex. Jon Lawson is a multi-instrumentalist tenor, soprano, alto, and baritone saxophonist as well as a composer, arranger, and music producer. Based in Boston, Massachusetts, Jon has performed in the United States, Europe, Asia, South and Central America, and the Caribbean. His soulful and modern sound intertwines seamlessly the styles of Smooth Jazz, R&B, and Funk. Jon currently leads and performs with Boston-based band Midnight Motion and previously performed with the bands Gimme 5, Jon Lawson and the Groove, and 3 AM Groove.

As a recording artist, Jon has produced four full length albums including his most recent album, Summer Nights'. In addition, Jon has released several singles and a Christmas EP, entitled Christmas Spirit. Jon regularly appears as a guest artist, working with many different artists in the music industry. In 2017, Jon graduated from Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA with a Bachelor of Music degree as Professional Music major with specialized focuses in composition, performance, and music business.

Jon has been awarded the Louis Armstrong Jazz Award as well as the National Society of Arts and Letters Award for Excellence in the Arts.

Graham is a passionate guitarist whose music has been influenced by rock legends Slash, Kurt Cobain, and funk master Cory Wong. Originally from Wellesley, Graham has been playing guitar since 18, immersing himself in the powerful riffs of Slash, the raw grunge of Kurt Cobain, and the funky grooves of Cory Wong. As a member of Midnight Motion, Graham blends these styles, delivering electrifying performances that captivate audiences. When not performing, Graham continues to refine his craft, constantly exploring new sounds and techniques to enhance his musical repertoire.

Abby Telson has been singing for as long as she can remember. She joined in many church choirs, sang around the campfires while her mother accompanied on guitar, and was in musical theatre in college. When not singing (which isn’t very often), Abby uses her genetic counseling degree as a sales representative in the Biotech space. She enjoys making music, reading books, watching Disney movies, and traveling to new places with her husband.

Yong-Chul Yoon is a self-taught Korean drummer with passion for jazz-rock fusion and funk. His inexplicable obsession for beats started with beatboxing, an art he mastered enough to win the middle school talent show. Then, at 15 years of age, he started his career as a drummer, albeit poorly, with his first band, P-HAT. Despite a bad start, he kept absorbing the basics and rudiments from YouTube videos, especially those featuring Kashikura Takahashi (Toe), Jimbo Akira (Casiopea 3rd), Yamaguchi Satoshi (RADWIMPS), Kawaguchi Senri, Anika Nilles, Tommy Igoe, Larnell Lewis, and Stanley Randolph. Now, he is the drummer for Midnight Motion led by Jon Lawson. Yong-Chul continues to improve as he develops his unique style and philosophy. Outside of the band, he enjoys reading (especially, philosophy, history, science, and religion), exercising, and spending time with his fiancée.
